The Winter Gardens undergoes digital transformation thanks to The Leisure Channel

The Leisure Channel has installed state-of-the-art digital screens throughout Blackpool’s famous Winter Gardens after signing a 6-year partnership with the historic entertainment venue.

The Winter Gardens is a Grade II* listed building with an annual footfall of over 1 million, welcoming visitors from over 60 countries, plus shows, acts and events from all over the world.

They asked The Leisure Channel to bring top end technology to their prestigious venue so they could promote upcoming shows and events, advertise local businesses, and display health and safety messages.

The venue has now swapped posters and banners for innovative digital screens which are situated throughout the building, along with interactive, free-standing totem screens. Instead of having to remember to take down posters after an event, the built-in technology will do this automatically.

Due to the listed status of the building, fixing screens and drilling into century old architecture was not an option. To combat this, The Leisure Channel worked closely with the team at the Winter Gardens and installed totem screens, with interactive touch displays, as well as using existing digital infrastructure within the venue.

The NHS test and trace system has also been installed on the interactive 49” totem screens, which is an invaluable tool during these uncertain times. Customers can simply scan the QR code which displayed on the screens when they enter the building.
